Read Before Commenting: All this application really does is prove that the new DeviantArt search is functional and so forth.
So, with the addition of the 1000 result search limit, I whipped together an application and saw that I can pull down the first 1000 results in a matter of seconds.
The application reads the deviantART RSS feed, using the same search functionality of the front page. The only difference is this application can get to the end of the results very fast.
This is why I think the 1000 result limit should be removed from the RSS feed. Removing the limit on the RSS Feed only can allow for developers and the community alike to run tests on and help stress test the new code.
With the data in the RSS feed, I can build this out to display the 1000 deviations and link to each deviation's page. There is a TON of information in the RSS feed.
I only want to help, and if stress testing the search by using the RSS feed is one way I can, I'd love to try.

Using the RSS Search in my prototype app, I can pull down the first 1000 results of any main search in under 10 seconds. The data includes Author, Title, URLs for Thumbnails, view full, deviation permalink and download links (if available). Also, pubdate, description, keywords and adult flag.
Using this information from the RSS feed, an advanced search functionality can be build externally without impacting the functionality of the deviantart website.
